Beach House Pilsner is a summer seasonal beer brewed by the Fordham & Dominion brewery in Dover, Delaware, US. Their beers are about drinkability and quality and bridging the gap between bland mainstream lagers and the more adventurous side of the American craft beer industry.
Czech style
Pilsner takes it name from the city it came from; Pizen (or Pilsner) in the Western Czech republic that was part of the Bohemian Kingdom. It was first brewed in the 1840s and was also known as Bohemian Pilsner.
Typically light straw to golden in colour and pours crystal clear, Czech style pilsners are high in foaminess and lighter in flavour. An easy drinking, smooth, crisp and clean beer that makes a perfect beach companion in the summer.
Dominion Beach House is a crisp and refreshing Bohemian Pilsner brewed with Vienna and CaraFoam Malts and dry hopped with Saaz Hops, whose defining characteristic is a slight spicy bitterness.
Beach House Pilsner
Jeff Evans at Inside Beer describes Beach House Pilsner
"Beach House Golden Pilsner is a beer built for summer drinking. It’s golden, it’s bright and it slips down exceptionally well. But actually it’s more than just a quencher for hot weather.
This beer has real character, with a pleasing herbal-hop flavour countering, and then outscoring, the sweet malt foundation (Perle, Tettnanger and Saaz are the hop varieties).
Clean and fresh-tasting, this is a beer I would happily drink a lot more of."
Food & Beer Matching
All of the Dominion range pair beautifully with food. Beach House pairs well with salad, mild to medium cheeses, chicken, whitebait and various other fish dishes, as well as spicy foods. It makes a great beach companion but even if it’s not BBQ weather, we find Beach House Pilsner works beautifully with Southern fried chicken and corn on the cob.
Beach House Pilsner, 5% ABV, is available in 355ml bottle and keg via various wholesalers in the UK and retails online at Beers of Europe.
